Perhaps photographs should speak for themselves, but my restless mind is not willing to leave it to chance. Perhaps also it is not the vogue to explain work, and taint the pureness of the #ffffff background. Yet I feel that the perfection of a website and this beautifully pure background contradicts the very nature of my intentions. Practically, my quest in photography is to work against the idea of perfection and the neat rectangular photograph that I always thought was the aim. The camera I use doesn't matter to me, as that can be subverted through the spirit in which it is used. Theoretically, my interest lies in nostalgia and the aesthetics of old photographs. Through my work I aspire to achieve some of the magic that these lost moments conjure up within us, and to evoke a world that appears to be fading from the every day. For now, I see these photographs as relics of time lost and gained, and I invite you to look at them in the same spirit. Return to Main Page |
